Meta On Top: A Global Digital Advertising Shift
Meta is projected to surpass Google in global digital advertising revenue by the end of 2026, according to eMarketer. Its net ad revenue is expected to reach $243.46 billion, edging past Google’s projected $239.54 billion.
This shift is driven by Meta’s accelerating growth rate, forecast to rise to 24.1% this year, up from 22.1% in 2025. A key factor behind this momentum is Meta’s sustained investment in AI. Products like Advantage+ and tools such as Manus have helped differentiate its offering and streamline set up for advertisers.
At the same time, Meta is strengthening its competitive position across platforms by scaling Reels to rival TikTok and YouTube Shorts in the lucrative short-form video market, while expanding ads across WhatsApp and Threads to challenge platforms like X.
