Inside Spiegelworld: What No Brief Can Teach You
Every agency team strives to be a true partner for its clients. And no two partnerships are the same. But when a partnership hits its stride, the energy it generates can’t be denied.
We recently began working with the Las Vegas-based entertainment powerhouse Spiegelworld. In June, the account’s full team was invited to spend three days in Vegas with the Spiegelworld team. We experienced each of their shows, restaurants, bars, and even made a trip out to Nipton, the town they own in California. We were fully immersed. Day three included a working session at their offices.
Not only was it a true dive into everything they’ve built with the people who built it, it also gave us the chance to experience Las Vegas as their audiences do. To better understand a constantly changing market, feel its energy, and take notice of the forces around the brand.
When you’re alongside the people behind a brand and not just learning it independently, you start to see things that no brief can capture. At Superfrico, it wasn’t just admiring the art on the walls, it was learning the story of the artists behind it and understanding why each piece was chosen. Every touch of charming grittiness at 99 Prince Bar wasn’t just an accent but a purposeful creative decision made with the same care and intention as everything else in the Spiegelworld universe. My favorite touch, quietly threaded through it all, were the hidden octopuses that keep appearing if you know to look for them.
Our immersion didn’t just expose us to Spiegelworld’s experiences; it opened up the world behind them. The people, the decisions, the philosophy that makes each property feel completely unique while remaining unmistakably part of the same universe. Reinforcing that the best brands and partnerships are built the same way, with discipline and intention at every level.
By the time we sat down for our day three working session, a meeting format we’re no strangers to early in a new partnership, something felt different. We were no longer getting up to speed, we felt as though we were already there. The conversation was sharper, more open, comfortable, and ultimately more productive because of the two days that preceded it. We left with more ideas than we arrived with, and Spiegelworld had a team that didn’t just understand their brand, but had lived it and become fierce advocates of it.
True immersion opens up a shared language between an agency and their client, and a clearer view of the world they’re competing in. That’s when the work gets interesting and, honestly, it’s why we do this.
